The history behind Nurture Kids Pediatrics …. Our story and our roots…
We are a group of 5 independent pediatric primary care practices that have joined hands to collaborate and offer the best care possible for the children in the Austin area. We came together because of our shared passion to build personalized relationships with high-quality care. We wanted to bring the best of both worlds for these practices -Personalized touch & warmth of a small practice and support and convenience of a larger group
It all started in 2017 with the Pediatric Center of Round Rock, a practice that has been serving Round Rock and surrounding suburbs for the past 25 years. While we were getting to know the families in Round Rock and evolving the legacy with the right combination of technology and personal touch, we got to meet Dr. Adana Gipson, who has been helping the Georgetown community for the past 20 years.
Dr.Gipson has practiced in the same complex nestled above the San Gabriel River over these 20 years. She opened River Ridge Pediatrics in 2012 so she could continue serving and caring for children in this smaller town setting. River Ridge Pediatrics joined our group in January of 2018.
Our growth further accelerated when Dr.Rodolfo Barrera (Pediatric Care of Austin) , who has been serving the pediatric needs of the greater Austin area for the past 35 years in the St.Davids hospital building on the 32nd street, saw the value with our model and joined hands. Pediatric Care of Austin became part of our group in January of 2019. The same year we were able to gladly assume and continue the care for patients of two retiring physicians – Dr.Peter Kangos and Dr.Karen English – That added two more locations – Pediatric Center of North Austin and Elgin Pediatrics
