Pediatric Center of Round Rock
Dr. Shilpa Sulochana
Dr Shilpa Sulochana is a Board Certified pediatrician joining our group in Round Rock. She is originally from India and obtained her medical degree from Bangalore medical college, India. Then she moved to US to get her training in Pediatrics from Nassau University Medical center, NY. After her graduation Dr. Sulochana worked as a General Pediatrician and as a hospitalist in Houston Medical center, Georgia and then moved to Florida where she worked for Advent Health systems for four years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr Sulochana is residing in Austin with husband and her two kids and in her spare time she likes traveling, exploring new places and enjoys playing volleyball. Dr Sulochana is excited to be a part of this community and looks forward to give a comprehensive and quality care for your children.

Dr. Asha Mathew, MD is a Board Certified pediatrician. She attended Pediatric Residency training at Children’s Hospital, Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center, El Paso. Following residency, Dr. Mathew moved to Austin with her family and worked as outpatient Pediatrician in Hutto and then in Cedar Park. As a child, she was inspired by the wonders of medical field and the amazing power it has on touching the lives of individuals, especially children. She carries this passion to work everyday. On other days, you can catch her spending quality time with her family, playing a game of badminton or catching up on movies and music. She loves traveling and long journeys. She and her husband have a son, Michael. As a family, they engage actively in church activities and charity events. Dr. Mathew is excited to be a part of Pediatric Center of Round Rock team and is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to children of all ages.

Dr. James Tomkinson is a board certified pediatrician. He was originally born in Texas but moved to Maryland and attended St Mary's College of Maryland. He then completed medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Afterwards he moved back to Texas and completed his pediatric residency at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Following that he completed a sleep medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico. His career interests include both general pediatrics and pediatric sleep medicine. In his personal time Dr Tomkinson enjoys hiking, soccer and basketball.

Dr. Adana Gipson
Dr. Gipson grew up in the Austin area. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and received her undergraduate degree in 1989. She attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed her pediatric and chief residency at Children's Medical Center of Dallas in 1997. Practicing in Georgetown since 1998, she opened River Ridge Pediatrics in the spring of 2012 and is excited to continue providing pediatic care. Married with 2 children, she enjoys raising her family and being part of the Georgetown community.

Dr. Shivani Patel says as long as she can remember, she always wanted to be a pediatrician. She grew up in the Midwest and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City for both undergraduate and medical school degrees. After getting married to a born and raised Texan, Dr.Patel moved to Temple to complete pediatric residency at McLane Children’s Hospital Scott and White. Dr.Patel has been practicing as a general pediatrician in Georgetown since 2015 and lives in Georgetown with her husband and 2 daughters. Dr.Patel loves to read, travel and spend time with family and friends.

Rachel was born and raised in Austin where she continues to live with her husband, Brison, daughters Clara and Caroline, and son Luke. Rachel Matula, has been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2009. She earned her MSN from the University of Texas Austin in 2006 and continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she received her CPNP in May 2009. Rachel has worked at Dell Children’s Medical Center for the past 5 years in the Respiratory Unit. Rachel enjoys spending her time outdoors and fishing with her husband.

Karin Perez grew up in Oklahoma and attended Texas A&M University, where she studied biochemistry and nutrition. She continued her studies at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing in the pediatric nurse practitioner program. In 2005, she received a Masters of Science in Nursing and has practiced in the Austin area since then. Karin considers it a privilege to get to know patients and their families and participate in their care. Karin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, travel and cooking. She and her husband have three children.

Dr. Rodolfo Barrera
Dr. Barrera attended The University of Texas at Austin and Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He received the Degree of Doctor of Osteopathy on May 19, 1979. He is currently in private practice in central Austin caring for infants, children and adolescents. He is also a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Southwestern Medical School, North Texas State Health Science Center, and The University of Texas School of Nursing. He is an avid swimmer and indulges in Yoga. He is happily married, has three beautiful daughters and five wonderful grandchildren.

Madison (Maddy) Pryor was born and raised in Central Texas. She graduated in 2017 from Baylor University cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in Spanish. She then attended University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth where she earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2020. She is board certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA), and the Central Texas Physician Assistant Society (CTPAS). As a Physician Assistant, she is able to see children of all ages for well child exams, as well as acute or chronic complaints. She is happily married, and looks forward to growing their family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring the beautiful hiking trails in the area.

Dr. Jenny Jacomides
Dr. Jenny Jacomides, a Board Certified pediatrician, attended the University of Texas at Austin. She then finished Medical School at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Jacomides completed her pediatric residency at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Following residency, Dr. Jacomides joined the Southwestern Medical School Faculty as an assistant professor of pediatrics. She taught medical students and residents while working in Pediatric Urgent Care and as a Pediatric Hospitalist. She also oversaw newborn care at the Parkland Memorial hospital newborn nursery. 4. In 2006, Dr. Jacomides moved to Austin with her family. She enjoys living in the Hill Country and taking care of patients in private practice. Her husband, Dr. Lucas Jacomides, is an urologist in the Round Rock area. In her personal time, Dr. Jacomides enjoys spending time with her children. She also enjoys art, photography and travel.

He attended The Ohio State University and received his masters in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Nebraska Medical Center. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, reading and cooking with his wife Karen and children, Noah and Juliette.

Katie graduated with a Master's in Nursing from the Western University of Health Sciences in 2009 and her post Master’s Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the University of Texas in 2017. She is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and has worked in primary care since becoming a nurse practitioner. She is happy to join Pediatric Center of North Austin where she can build long term patient-family relationships to provide comprehensive primary and acute care to infants, children and adolescents across their development. Her clinical interests include newborn care and parent education, breastfeeding support, ADHD, and asthma care. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Katie has 10 years of experience as a bedside nurse working at two world-renowned pediatric intensive units, UCLA and Texas Children’s in Houston, as well as a pediatric transplant coordinator for children who needed new livers and kidneys. She relocated with her family to her husband’s hometown of Austin in 2015 to be closer to family. While originally from Wisconsin, she would rather sweat out the hot summers in Texas than freeze in the cold winters of the Midwest. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters exploring all that Austin has to offer. You can find them hiking at local parks, riding their bikes around the neighborhood or playing with their 3 dogs and 2 cats at home.

Laura Ashley Hicks is a nationally certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Biology and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2018 with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree. Her previous experience has been in Primary Care with a focus on Pediatrics. After growing up in Texas and Louisiana, Ashley has recently moved to the Austin area from Phoenix, AZ to be close to family and is excited to join Elgin Pediatrics. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her spouse and 2 dogs. As a provider, Ashley strives to deliver the most up-to-date, evidence-based medicine centered around lifestyle habits. With a focus on building relationships with patients and their families, Ashley looks forward to providing comprehensive care to children of all ages.
